Madds Brügger es danés. Periodista.

Madds Brügger is a Danish filmaker, journalist… and a brave man. This global nomad chose the far less diplomatic way- or maybe not? – to take over a post: he bought it.
«In the 1990s Liberia sold about 2,500 diplomatic titles,» explains Madds Brügger in an interview published by Monocle.
He bought the job for 134,000 euros to become the «official representative of Liberia in the Central African Republic». The result of their experiences is a new released documentary, «The ambassador», where Brügger plays the role of a mysterious and decadent diplomat, «a mix of Karl Lagerfeld and Henry Stanley».
Officially he is there to start a factory that produces matches – this, to employ locals and teach how to make this simple piece of fire-making equipment. Unofficially he is really there to gain access to vast reserves of diamonds. The Ambassador is a genre-breaking, tragic comedy about the bizarre world of African diplomacy.
Back in Denmark, Madds Brügger has no plans to return to Africa: «One of the people I met with was later assassinated in a very public way that was not reported, which suggests assassins were working for the regime. With hinsight, I think it was more danger than I knew»
