Álvaro González-Alorda es cofundador de emergap, una consultora especializada en innovación en países emergentes. Ha colaborado con más de 100 empresas en 20 países. Vive entre Madrid y Miami. En España imparte clases en ISEM Fashion Business School y en el IE. Y en América, en INALDE Business School y en el IEEM Business School, entre otras escuelas.

Royal Blue (#4169E1) es mi color favorito. “Los próximos 30 años van a ser los más interesantes de la historia de la Humanidad”. Me siento en casa… dondequiera que esté rodeado de mi familia y de mis amigos. Más que un lugar en concreto, para mí, el hogar es un estado interior. “¡Buenas noticias! En la próxima década, los países emergentes crecerán más que los países desarrollados”.

Me gusta el olor de… la chimenea. “Tanta noticia sobre la crisis no ayuda a superarla”.“Gobiernos: ¡Apaguen los telediarios y enciendan la música!” Nunca viajo sin… mi traje de baño ni mis Preventi shoes. “Necesitamos detenernos a reflexionar sobre quiénes somos, quiénes queremos llegar a ser y qué hábitos y herramientas pueden ayudarnos en el proceso”.Me gusta el sabor del… agua salada en los labios. “Detrás de una transformación empresarial siempre hay una transformación personal”. ¿Estás listo para cambiar?

Desconecto… nadando en el mar (gracias a Jobs, el iPhone no es resistente al agua). “Sin integridad personal no es posible inspirar a los demás”. Lo mejor de enseñar… son los alumnos que acaban convirtiéndose en amigos. “¿Tienes valores más grandes que tú mismo? ¿Cuánto luchas por alcanzarlos?” La belleza es… para el alma lo que el oxígeno es para el cuerpo. “Sin disciplina, todo lo que hacemos es… bla, bla, bla”. El amor es… lo que creas cuando das. “Si no queremos literalmente #StayFoolish (como Steve Jobs sugirió en su día), debemos #StayFocused”. Un libro… Retorno a Brideshead, de Evelyn Waugh. “La sobreabundancia de información está generando más ansiedad que conocimiento estructurado”.

Una canción… In A Little While, de U2. “No busques seguidores, simplemente haz amigos”. Un lugar… Punta del Este (Uruguay). “Menos e-mails y más conversaciones”. Un sueño… ver a muchas familias rotas juntas de nuevo. “La calidad de tu liderazgo depende de la calidad de tus conversaciones”. ¿Una persona a la que admiro?… Jesucristo. “Si quieres cambiar el mundo, aborda tus conversaciones pendientes”. Lo mejor de vivir en Madrid es… elAeropuerto de Barajas. “No necesitas ser extraordinario, simplemente #SuperNormal“.

Royal Blue (#4169E1) is my favorite color. “The next 30 years will be the most fascinating years of History”. I feel at home wherever I’m surrounded by family and friends. More than a location, home is for me an inner place.“Good news!: the emerging markets will grow more than the developed ones over the next decade”. “So much news about the crisis doesn’t help much to overcome it”. I like the smell of the fireplace.

“Governments: turn OFF the news and turn the music ON!”. I never travel without swimming trunks nor my Preventi shoes. “We don’t need more clothes”. “We need to Stop&Think who we are, who we want to be and what habits and tools may help us in the process”. I love the taste ofsalty water in my lips. “Behind a business transformation there is always a personal transformation. Are you ready to change?”.

iDisconnect swimming in the ocean (thanks Jobs, iPhones aren’t waterproof). “Without personal integrity it’s not possible to inspire others”. The best about teaching are those students who end up becoming friends. “Do you stand for something bigger than yourself? How much do you struggle to achieve it?”. Beauty is to soul what oxygen is to body. “Without discipline… all we do is bla, bla, bla”. Love is what you get when you give.
