National Geographic se convirtió a lo largo del siglo pasado en algo más que una revista. Entre sus páginas, la publicación americana consiguió capturar el mundo que nos rodea a través de fascinantes fotografías que se convirtieron en iconos de humanidad y naturaleza. Como cada año, la revista premia a los mejores fotógrafos a través de su concurso de fotografía. En esta ocasión, ya hemos conocido los ganadores de la edición del pasado 2014, tres fotografías que han conseguido capturar los lugares, la fauna y la sociedad a través de tres instantáneas. El Grand Prize de este año lo ha recibido Brian Yen con su fotografía ‘A Node Glows in the Dark…’, un retrato de nuestra sociedad encegada con la tecnología que retrata a una joven asiática en el centro de un vagón teñido por una luz azulada. Ausencia e introspección que definen el inicio del siglo en el que vivimos y que nos animan a dejar de lado nuestros smartphones y descubrir el maravilloso mundo que nos rodea.

A portrait of a young Asian woman at the center of a wagon tinged with blue light was the best picture of 2014 according to National Geographic.
