Antes de que un producte llegue cargado de tanta magia, debe pasar inexorablemente por las manos de aquellos que tienen “las virtudes necesarias”.On the occasion of the celebration of Les Journées Particulières in Florence on 15 and 16th of June, Felice Limosani made a serie of videoart pieces to punctuate the spaces and illustrate the key themes of the event. How did you start this collaboration?
The collaboration is related to the 60th birthday of Pucci celebration. I was commissioned to do commemorative visuals and as a result I created the Emilio Pucci Remix.. Working with Laudomia Pucci I discovered that besides being a special woman, she has is really creative and has a great enthusiasm. If I intend her to go to the moon, she challenges me to go to the sun.
What was the starting point of the video?
I did not want to talk about the experienced hands of the artisan of a certain age nor beautiful hands for this video. I chose quite simply those of a person who has no more than 25 years. The message goes to those who can feel passion for art made with hands. Many want to make art, but few in a professional manner. This not only refers to the creative aspect, but the real opportunity to work is an important issue today.
Which role will have the hands in the digital culture?
Through the web we create, work, invent, and this is only the first part. The best is in the industrial new revolution of «makers». Today the bits, digital files and intangible creativity can be transformed into matter, atoms or physical objects through 3D printing. Hands, software and robotics become components. The theme is an old idea but really contemporary: the man. As I try to explain in «HANDS», we use intelligence, talent and passion to do anything.
Could you tell us briefly the conculsions of Les Journès Particulaires?
It was the celebration of the men and women who are behind the dream heritage of aesthetic, quality and beauty. Before a producte comes loaded with so much magic, inexorably must pass through the hands of those who have «the necessary virtues.» On the occasion of the celebration of Les Journées Particulières in Florence on 15 and 16th of June, Felice Limosani made a serie of videoart pieces to punctuate the spaces and illustrate the key themes of the event.
