Perfection is boring

Marc Jacobs has launched a beauty line. Again, his muse Sofia Coppola has been involved in that new adventure. She was the first one to test it in the past Met Gala. “Personally, I think she was the best-looking woman there. I don’t love Photoshop; I like imperfection. It doesn’t mean ugly. I love a girl with a gap between her teeth, versus perfect white veneers. Perfection is just… Boring. Perfect is what’s natural or real; that is beauty.” explains Marc Jacobs to Celia Ellenbert, who interviews the acclaimed designer for Style.com on the occasion.

About the other side of beauty, the make up artist Inge Grongard knows everything. Wife of the amazing photographer Ronald Stoops, together they have been responsible for the visual memory of the “Antwerp Six”. Working with Walter Van Beirendonck, Ann Demeulemeester, Dries Van Noten and Martin Margiela, they tried with success to find new paths for fashion. “… The thing that we always wanted to do is not to do what we already saw, but to try to find something newer, something else. What we always wanted to do is to make it from ourselves” confesses Inge to Natasha Slee of Dazed Digital this week.
