Welcome to Preventi Shoes. We Are Global Nomads

Winter Brushstrokes with Toni Espuch

“Seguir creciendo con la misma ilusión que tengo hoy”.A couple of weeks have passed since the interior designer Toni Espuch put his Christmas tree at Azul Tierra. But, instead of the typical shiny balls, he has created on purpose for the occasion wax balloons wistfully hanging in the branches of a huge aveto.

This year he has decided to stay with a local craftmanshin: “All this Christmas campaign has been done with artisans. Paper flowers, reindeer cloth, wax ornaments… Everything has been done here”, says Toni, fully involved in this commitment to new crafts and back to single product: “There is a return to unique things, to the artists, the handmade stuff”.

Although now he recognizes to be very focused in Spain, Toni keeps travelling in the search of new treasures to nourish his stores. One of your favorite destinations? “Right now Belgium, the trend of colors, textures… It is a very inspiring place. They know very well to mix the old and the new which is a very well-balanced combination”.

Precisely an expert to create strong dialogues between yesterday and today, Toni is now immersed in two big projects. The completion of the offices of the pharmaceutical laboratory Eladiet which he has enthusiastically highlighed the creation of a vintage-inspired Cabinet of Curiosities, and the interior design for the cocktail bar at L’Eggs of Chef Paco Perez in Barcelona.

We took the occasion to ask him for the new ideas for his upcoming new collaboration as #globalnomad with Preventi next Spring: “I’m thinking of a timeless shoe, both in color and material.”

A wish for this 2014? “Continue to grow with the same enthusiasm that I have today.”A couple of weeks have passed since the interior designer Toni Espuch put his Christmas tree at Azul Tierra.
