About chairs and fashion

With “the cannage” technique that wears chairs and rocking chairs seats, Balmain’ creative director has served on the catwalk luxury designs and fantasy patterns.

He’s not the first one. Others like Picasso worked with the iconic woven cane as well. In his Still Life with Chair-Caning of 1912, the artist used an oil cloth printed with the famous chair seat in a piece that made history. It was one of the first collages they said.

And it’s just that collage vision from Thonet and its viennese style what it’s relevant in the powerful designs of this young and emerging designer. And he is not thirty years old yet.

Let’s keep talking about chairs and fashion. Peter Thonet, part of the fifth generation of the Thonet family, gives name to one of Preventi men shoes. He, a lover of the natural colors, fall in love with our natural colour leather ankle boot. So we take the opportunity to review the interview we did to him about his collaboration with Preventi shoes.
