A fortnight ago, I blogged about Steve McQueen’s favourite Barbour biker jacket and his motorcycle competitions. McQueen also used to carefully select accessories which lent him an unmistakable aura of masculinity and an effortless, sporty style. One of the most essential and basic of all these accessories was the helmet.
Apart from the bike, helmets are a clear stamp of individuality both on the bike and off. They say a lot about you, whether or not you have a sense of humor, if you like to play safe wearing black or if you like to live dangerously and daringly don orange or yellow.
And once you´ve parked your bike, and are walking around carrying your helmet, it story continues. It shows that you hate traffic jams and you love being on the move. But undoubtedly, the most important thing of all is that it is a way of letting people know you are a “friendly” biker in the unmistakable style of the global nomads.
