Still without a permanent home, this collection is literally unique. The Museum of Letters (Buchstabenmuseum) is devoted to preserving and documenting letterforms. This museum is not just for graphic design nerds and typography enthusiasts. Above all else, these “rescued” characters and logos are artifacts of their times and art objects with historical and emotional value.
Each exhibit has a documented history of its origin. While these objects are currently from around Berlin, in the future letters will arrive from all over the world. The visit to the temporary exhibition space is open Thursday to Saturday from 1–3pm. Entry 2,50 €.
